Projects

In the 2025 fall semester, I got the opportunity to serve as the Content Editor for the ZONE magazine, the annual athletic magazine for The University of West Alabama. The team I was a part of consisted of 5 students and an advisor. My job was to formally edit all stories that were going to be published in the magazine and made sure they all met journalistic standards. I wrote two of the fifteen stories that were published. This was such a great experience learning the behind-the-scenes of media writing.

The University of West Alabama opened up the first ever Print Design course in the 2025 fall semester and I was one of the first students to take it. As a new class, it was very experimental based. We as a class went through trial and error to figure out which methods worked for emulsifying, drying, burning, and using an ink squeegee on silk screens. We also learned how to properly use our heating machines to effectively dry the ink. I enjoyed learning the process of this art and hope to do some more in the future.

For this project, I needed to create a social media post for my university’s football Instagram page. In my Graphic Design 2 class, we made these posts so that our work could be showcased in the event they were needed. Below, I will show the progressions of my designs and how I ended up in my final post. My first design was on the bland side and needed more details, and after discussing potential changes in a group discussion, I added some more components. I added a fabric-textured background, switched to an athletic font, and added a strip shape for the location details. The end product had a more sporty feel than the first.

For this project, my goal was to create images that advertised a rubber duck necklace using rubber duck accents instead of basic, neutral backgrounds. I utilized yellows, blues, and bright lighting to showcase the fun and aquatic vibe of the necklace. To do this, I purchased a yellow poster board, a plastic blue tablecloth, a windmill, and a gift bow, and I already owned the rubber ducks. I set up in my dorm room kitchenette and made my idea come to life. I used a desk light as my main light source. While my dorm looked like it had been destroyed, I was able to get some cool shots.
